A visit from Turkey's New Technology and Science Hub, Biotechnology Valley, to Turkish Trade Bank.

Türkiye's new technology and science hub, the Biotechnology Valley, continues its discussions aimed at strengthening strategic collaborations. In this context, Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BİYOSAD and BİOSB, visited İlker Yeşil, Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Türk Ticaret Bankası.


Türkiye's new technology and science hub, the Biotechnology Valley, is rising in Istanbul's Tuzla district with an investment value of $4.5 billion, covering an area of 2.7 million square meters, aiming to create 20,000 qualified jobs and attract $15 billion in investment. While work continues on the site, discussions to strengthen strategic collaborations are also ongoing. In this context, Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş, Chairman of the Biotechnology Industrialists Association (BİYOSAD) and the Biotechnology Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (BİOSB), met with İlker Yeşil, Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Türk Ticaret Bankası. During the meeting held at Türk Ticaret Bankası's headquarters, ideas were exchanged on the contributions of the biotechnology sector to the Turkish economy, its innovation potential, and financial support models.


"WE AIM TO EXPAND THE BIOTECHNOLOGY ECOSYSTEM."


Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş made the following statement regarding the visit:

“Biotechnology is one of the most strategic fields shaping the world's economic and technological competitiveness today.”


Our goal as the Biotechnology Valley is to make Türkiye not just a part of this competition, but also one of the leading countries in it. In line with this, we aim to grow the biotechnology ecosystem through collaborations between the public and private sectors, finance, and academia. This goal will enable us to transform the Biotechnology Valley from a regional center into a global gateway.”
