The Biotechnology Valley, positioned as Türkiye's new science and technology hub, has become a model for the Biotechnology Technopark project to be built in Slovenia. For the Technopark to be built in Ajdovščina, Slovenia, Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BİYOSAD and BİOSB, informed the Mayor of Ajdovščina, Tadej Beočanin, about the work done and the ecosystem developed.

Positioned as Turkey's new science and technology hub, the Biotechnology Valley has become a model for the Biotechnology Technopark project planned for implementation in Slovenia, thanks to its high value-added and export-oriented vision, planned and scalable settlement structure, governance approach based on public-private-academia cooperation, sustainable infrastructure and water management practices, circular economy model focused on waste and recycling, and its entire ecosystem. In this context , Tadej Beočanin, the Mayor of Ajdovščina, where the project will be implemented, visited the Biotechnology Valley under construction in Tuzla district of Istanbul. During the visit, Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BİYOSAD and BİOSB, informed Mayor Tadej Beočanin about the work being done and the developed ecosystem.

"IT IS VERY VALUABLE FOR THE BIOTECHNOLOGY VALLEY TO BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL MODEL."

Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BİYOSAD and BİOSB, made the following statement regarding the visit:

“In designing the Biotechnology Valley, we adopted a holistic approach that considers not only today's needs but also the science and technology ecosystems of the future. From sustainable infrastructure to water and resource management, from the circular economy to R&D and production integration, we considered every element as an environmentally friendly and high value-added system. Today, we find it extremely valuable that this approach has transformed into a model that is cited as an example on an international scale.”

"A CONCRETE DEMONSTRATION OF Türkiye'S VISION AND COMPETENCE IN THE FIELD OF BIOTECHNOLOGY"

Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş stated: “The fact that the Biotechnology Valley is considered an international point of reference is a concrete indicator of Türkiye's vision and competence in the field of biotechnology. Today, the vision we have put forth offers a framework from which different countries draw inspiration when designing their own biotechnology structures. We view this mutual interaction not merely as a visit, but as the beginning of long-term, multi-stakeholder, and lasting collaborations.”

"THE BIOTECHNOLOGY VALLEY PROVIDES AN INSPIRING EXAMPLE."

Ajdovščina Mayor Tadej Beočanin stated, “I was very pleased to see the Biotechnology Valley firsthand and to closely examine this comprehensive ecosystem. The planning approach, sustainable infrastructure solutions, and public-private-academia collaboration we observed here provide an extremely inspiring example of how a strong and holistic ecosystem can be established in the field of biotechnology. We believe it is important to utilize the experience and observations gained in the Biotechnology Valley in our planned Biotechnology Technopark project in Ajdovščina. Türkiye's vision and implementation capacity in this field also serve as a strong reference for international collaborations.”
