Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Oruç Baba visited the İnan Technology Valley.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Oruç Baba İnan visited the Biotechnology Valley, positioned as Türkiye's new technology and science hub. During the visit, field inspections were conducted at the Biotechnology Valley site located in the Tuzla district of Istanbul.


Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Oruç Baba İnan visited the Biotechnology Valley in Tuzla district of Istanbul, one of Türkiye's largest technology and innovation projects, spanning approximately 2.7 million square meters and representing an investment value of $5.2 billion. Deputy Minister Oruç Baba İnan was accompanied by Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş, Chairman of the Biotechnology Industrialists Association (BİYOSAD) and the Biotechnology Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (BİOSB), and other board members. During the visit, a field inspection was conducted at the Biotechnology Valley site, and detailed information was received about the ongoing work and projects.

Following the visit , Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BİYOSAD and BİOSB, stated, “We highly value the visit of our esteemed Deputy Minister and sincerely thank him for his interest in and support of the Biotechnology Valley. This visit has once again highlighted the strategic importance of our work and its place in our country's technology vision. In this regard, the collaborations we carry out with the public and private sectors constitute the most important levers strengthening Turkey's biotechnology ecosystem. This strengthening of the ecosystem prepares a solid foundation that enables international investors to integrate into our country, while also constituting critical steps towards our goal of transforming the Biotechnology Valley from a regional center into a global gateway.”


"WE HAVE A $15 BILLION EXPORT TARGET."


Dr. Ercan Varlıbaş stated, “In our Biotechnology Valley, we aim to be a valley of firsts in Türkiye with our projects developed in the areas of water management, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and adaptation to changing climate conditions. We aim for $15 billion in annual exports from our Biotechnology Valley, which is uniquely domestic and national. Furthermore, with our 160 large-scale production facilities, 300 startups, universities, R&D centers, and laboratories, we are creating a living city and ecosystem.”
